“My MPC is on the way to be returned. Ill let you know how it goes. Reason I returned it was the huge lag in the Sample Edit screen.”
“guitar center let me return Ren after 3 months. big up to them,i guess they know how bad the Ren is,obviously people are reading the akai forum.felt good to get rid of that thing.”
“I am pleased to report that I successfully returned my Ren today at GC (had it 1 month). homeboy didn't even really ask me any questions about it, he kinda started to and then trailed off....couldn't even look at me, just wanted me out of the store cuz HE KNOWS IT'S A **** PRODUCT, at least at this stage of its life cycle. he forked over my money and I walked out with a big 'ole grin and drove off. it was surprisingly easy to return, because I suspect they know what's going on with it. so, if you have any doubts about this machine RETURN IT NOW before they change their policy!”
“You might commit suicide when you realize how bad the mpc software is”
“Pad light don't work correctly when i sequence a track and after they are looping. But my biggest problem is saving. I have saved to my external HD when i open my project everything is gone! It's like i opened a blank file. I saved it to my computer HD and it just erased it again. This happened even after i updated to the latest upgrade. Please help with my saving issue!”
“when i delete a sample by double clicking it or holding down erase and pressing the corresponding pad, it will delete the sound, but it doesnt delete the note which you can see on the grid, but if you then save the project and load it up again, the note on the grid disappeares! this thing will give me a brain tumor. anyone wanna buy a mpc ren?”
“click sampletanks's load butt immediate crash. what does that tell us? that the ren is buggy! when i insert sampletank in reaper and click the mentioned load button it won´t crash. same in samplitude.”
“the infamous screen lag is probably the result of shody drivers”
”This 16bit situation is a major fail on their part, as is the pad design which early 1K owners know is a ticking time bomb. Also the "vintage" 3K output stage BS, inability to work in patterns without crashes/plugins being duplicated, no Step Edit, gimped legacy file import, lagging screens, lack of waveform zooming on the LCD... the list goes on and on.”
“My mpc Ren has been collecting dust the past few months, I want half my money back for akai delivering not even half the product they advertised, **** ridiculous and I supported this product 100 percent from the start, now Im trying to figure out how to make up for my losses and buy something that actually works, mpc2500, maybe an mv8800, the Ren completely sucks right now in my opinion, it's probably the most unfinished, falsely advertised, over hyped, under powered piece of **** I ever bought for my studio. There's now way this thing should cost more than $250. As of now all it can accomplish is very basic sampling and sequencing. My fantom x, fantom g, mpc 1000, mpc 2500 all make this thing seem like a broken disfunctional toy. I would be willng to trade back any of those for my ren right now. I feel like punching every employee at akai in the face for being such sneaky snakes.”
“Ok, so almost 3 months and we still have all these damn bugs, crashes, missing functions, functions that dont work properly, poorly designed product interface, the damn cds that come with the ren dont even load/install for many people, insane! Akai being quiet, massive false advertising, support is terrible. I go on their support site and theres pages of problems with 1 akai employee giving NO solutions, pathetic. I could go on a 100000 word rant but I just gotta say the Ren sucks, please update it at least so when I sell it I can tell the buyer it works. As of now the Ren is a complete failure, this thing shouldnt cost a fraction of what it cost me, complete bs, I hate akai and all their employees with a passion. How could they mess up such a good product like the MPC. It's a shame, lol. Before it came out, we saw Andy and Dan parading everywhere showing it off. Now where are they???? lmao, gone with our money i'd guess. Now that **** hit the fan you dont see none of these guys showing there faces. This thing needs MASSIVE, HUGE UPDATES, and SOON. I wonder if anyone at akai got fired over this catastrophe. Honestly, when the 5000 came out I dont even remember it being this bad.”
“Please shed the light, I would like to know out of curiousity the team behind the REN.”
”Product Concept: Glen Darcey, Peter Thom, Dan Gill, Alex Souppa. Software: Peter Thom, Pete Goodliffe, John McAuliffe, Chris Parks, Ultan Henry, David Brenan, Patrice Tarabbia, Jennifer Hruska.”
